Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have an internship at Strategy? If so, look no further! This summer’s interns are here to talk about all of Strategy’s secrets and give you the insider scoop on what starting a career in a technology field looks like.
Dylan Herrig, One Dangerous Developer

Strategy is the first job Dylan has had that involves web development or computer programming. Despite his inexperience, Dylan has been an amazing asset to Strategy’s development team. He works closely with Zach Gillam, and the pair have become fast friends. Dylan quickly picked up the flow of working at Strategy and cranks out websites like it’s nothing.
Dylan also soaks up knowledge like a sponge. Spending time with Zach and the team facing development challenges has taught him about coding languages he knows, new coding languages, new programs, how a company works, meetings, and employee interactions. When asked about how much he’d learned, Dylan said, “Overall, I have learned more things in the last few weeks than I ever thought possible, and that has made this opportunity amazing for me.”
When asked to describe his experience at Strategy, Dylan said it has been “a challenging and rewarding opportunity that has made a positive impact on me,” and that he would “without a doubt” recommend Strategy as the place to intern.
Carrick Wilson, IT Extraordinaire

Carrick’s experience makes him a reliable pick for client on-site work installing new machines, pulling cable, and helping fix general problems. At the office, Carrick takes on a more variegated role functioning as a remote technician for clients, office janitor, Strategy staff IT support, and moonlighting as a blog writer. This many “hats” would unbalance most people, but his head is quite large and he wears them all with ease. His notable accomplishments are winning the Office Comedic Relief, Montclair Project MVP, Best Mop Handler 2015, Best Sweeper 2016, and Scruffiest Janitor 2017 awards.
A Word from Our Sponsor
Jason Wilson, one of Strategy’s partners, started looking into internships as a way to help students grow their careers and also to find potential candidates for the Strategy team. The role of interns is invaluable to Jason, and he has been impressed by the tremendous positive impact that both Dylan and Carrick have had on Strategy. Jason described his joy in watching the interns grow during their internship saying, “It’s great to see them take their school training and learn how to apply it in the real world. I’ve seen them both step up to challenges and solve problems and become valuable members of the team.”
In Jason’s mind, the Strategy internship program is alive and strong. Strategy hopes to hire interns every year and would like to hire a greater number each summer. When asked what qualities he looks for in an intern, Jason said they must be passionate about their work, knowledgeable about their craft, and teachable. He also looks at a possible future intern’s school performance and the things they have done outside of class such as clubs or volunteer work.
Dylan and Carrick both give Strategy a resplendent review and are extremely satisfied with their internships. Carrick said, “Working with Strategy is an amazing opportunity to learn, grow, and develop both your skills and professional experience.” Dylan agreed, saying he would recommend an internship at Strategy “without a doubt.”
