Great design starts with understanding your brand. We’ll do a discovery to get to know your business. A website is more than just colors and fonts. It should be a reflection of your values and culture. In discovery we’ll get deep into what you do and stand for. We’ll also discuss your goals for the website. An e-commerce site will look very different from a SaaS platform. Finally, we need to know the rough content outline for the site. The architecture of the pages and desired customer journey are critical.

Once we have a clear idea of your goals and brand, we’ll begin wireframing. We will create outlines of every page to ensure your content needs are met by the design. Wireframes essentially have no design so this step is pretty quick. Think a lot of gray boxes and outlines.

After wireframes are approved the real design begins. We start with the home page. This is usually the most important page on a site. It sets the tone for the vast majority of your incoming users. A home page tells them who you are and what you do. More importantly, it tells them if your site is worth their time. Home pages also give us the most room to flex the creative muscle. We’ll use your feedback on the home page as a guide for the following pages.

From there, we design the required interior pages. These are generally simpler and faster than the home page. We usually provide extra layouts in addition to the exact wireframe designs. This gives development and content teams extra flexibility when they build the site. Of course, we build sites too.
