PROBLEM ANALYSIS
Synergy’s website was outdated and difficult to use. It struggled to present the right information first. The customer journey wasn’t clear. Even worse, it wasn’t reaching the families who needed it most.
CHALLENGE ANALYSIS
As a non-profit, the mission had to come before everything. The site needed to show families suffering from domestic abuse that help was available. It had to be both easy to use and read. The right information had to be front and center. Additionally, it needed to provide quick methods for visitors to request help and discreetly close the site.

A new website was essential to improving Synergy’s effectiveness. It could address the technical limitations of the old site while improving SEO. The user experience would be custom designed for Synergy’s unique target audience. Plus, we could ensure it looked stunning.
Market Research
Before diving into website and content development, we needed to develop a thorough understanding of Synergy Service’s organization, brand message, and key brand promise. Additionally, we had to learn about families in the Kansas City area and how to message around their needs.
UNDERSTAND
To learn how to address local families, we conducted a deep analysis on Synergy’s brand. We helped them develop personas to better understand their target audience. Additionally, we analyzed their reports and studies to learn about their work.
EVALUATE
We identified critical information about Synergy’s services that was missing from their website. Additionally, we helped find marketing tactics Synergy could use to reach their audience. We also saw Synergy’s brand needed to be updated before beginning work on the new site.
APPLY
We helped Synergy update their brand, aligning it to their mission. We used the visual identity to show that life without abuse was possible and worth pursuing. Additionally, we developed content for the site to fill critical gaps in information. To wrap up planning, we mapped the customer journey and created a strategic plan to implement it on the new site.
