Strategy Marketing Agency is 14 years old! We wanted to take a moment to thank our dedicated team and all our amazing clients, without you we wouldn’t be here. We’ve come a long way from working in a basement with only four dedicated founders who had a dream to empower small businesses through marketing. And while we’re in our own office space with a growing number of employees, our mission has remained the same. Everything we do, we do to help our clients. It took us some time to figure out the best way we could do this, but over the past few years especially, we have learned what our customers really need. Keep reading to hear about some of the biggest lessons we’ve learned and how we’re using them to better our digital marketing agency.

Finding Our Focus

When Strategy Marketing Agency first started out, our founders tried to do everything. From radio ads to collateral in print, Strategy became a jack of all trades. But neither we nor our clients were getting the results we wanted. Strategy knew something had to change if we were going to give our clients the leads they were looking for. As founder Jason Wilson put it, “Over the last couple of years, we’ve done a lot of work to really get dialed in on narrowing our services and being more specific on who we are as a company and who we serve.” So, our team put their heads together and looked at everything they were doing to see what was driving the best results.

After careful research and consideration, our digital marketing agency landed on three main service offerings: content marketing, paid advertising, and web development. These marketing tactics required us to get to know our clients even better so we could create written content and websites that reflected their brand perfectly. And we didn’t stop there. We continue to learn new ways to engage with and learn about our clients so we can give them exactly what they need, which more often than not is leads.

Creating a Platform that Works

As a marketing agency that serves people all over the country, we know that having a reliable and captivating website is a must for any business. We saw the need our clients had over the years for not just quality content, but quality sites as well. A business’ website is essentially their own 24/7 salesman, and we wanted to give our clients the best lead generator possible. So, we made our own website platform.

“The platform wasn’t just designed to be a website.” says Jason. “It’s designed to help businesses be able to quickly get a website that actually converts leads.” How did we do this? We started using the Story Brand framework to get to know our clients and their customers. All the marketing in the world won’t do a thing if your efforts aren’t resonating with your target audience. In simple terms, we learned from our clients what problem their business solved for their customers. From there, we were able to create a website catered to solving this problem and providing their customers with an easy to navigate site.

We spent years refining our new approach to website development and content marketing. And it paid off. Not only did our clients see a rise in high-quality leads, but we also won an award for our newly developed strategy. The new site we created for Synergy Services was nominated for the 2024 Philly Awards. Strategy Marketing Agency placed silver, and our websites became award winning! It was a great moment for our digital marketing agency and again, none if it would have been possible without our team or clients.

Becoming Client Intimate

When Strategy was founded, we wanted to be more than just another marketing agency. And we wanted our clients to be more than just numbers. As a small business, we understand the challenges SMBs face just to survive. We realized that as a digital marketing agency, Strategy was in a powerful position to help small businesses thrive.

As Jason put it, “The most important thing is the mental shift that your messaging’s for your customer, not yourself. You’re a guide helping customers accomplish their dreams.” If Strategy was going to encourage our clients to get to know their customers, we had to do the same thing. We refined our processes and narrowed in on getting to know our customers and what they wanted and what they needed from a marketing agency.

Delivering Results

All the growth we’ve been making as a marketing agency has been to help get our clients better results. Understanding your ideal customers and using the right tactics and online platforms have been a game changer for our clients. In 2024 we were able to generate over 15,000 conversions for our customers, reaffirming that our research, planning, and marketing efforts were paying off. “We’re not just doing tactics,” says Jason. “We are data-driven, and we want to see results and we hold ourselves accountable to those results, and that’s why we celebrate.” Our digital marketing agency does more than run marketing plans, we monitor all our efforts to see what’s working and what isn’t to ensure our clients are always getting the best results.

Doing the Same for Ourselves

As Strategy continued to grow and our clients saw more and more success, we realized we needed to take some of our own advice. We encouraged clients to use the Story Brand framework and find their ideal customer to better target their marketing efforts. Just like how our marketing agency used to do a bit of everything, we were trying to market to every possible customer out there and were getting mediocre results. So, we narrowed down our focus once more.

We looked at all our clients and what services we could best provide. After months of research and collaboration, Strategy Marketing Agency found its niche: design-build firms. This in no way meant we were giving up on the clients who got us here or would say no to SMBs outside of that industry. Instead, we could start tailoring our marketing tactics to a specific customer, increasing the chances of getting more desired leads and being able to better help our customers.

After winning an award for our website development and design skills, we decided it was also time to update our own online platform. We used all the best practices we recommend our clients use to create a modern and easy to use site for Strategy’s growing digital marketing agency.
