What You’d Be Doing

The graphic design intern position will consist of on-site working hours. Intern and Strategy Creative Director will have weekly meetings to review assignments, track work progress, and receive coaching. The Intern will be responsible for creating graphic design elements for internal projects as well as client projects. Projects may consist of web based graphics, branding opportunities, collateral design, and various other creative efforts, as well as other opportunities that may arise. Work may be done in conjunction with a team or individually. The Intern may have some direct communication with clients or partake in client meetings with Strategy staff. Indicators of a successful contractor fit for this opportunity follow.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Currently enrolled in a college setting and working toward a graphic design degree
  • Freelance or client based work a plus

Competency

  • Proficient in the Adobe CS Suite of products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office Product Suite
  • Ability to work in Windows or MAC environments
  • Good understanding of basic web site design techniques
  • Good understanding of basic graphic design principles and theory

Responsibilities

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials
  • Plans concepts by studying information and materials
  • Creates unique design concepts by creating rough layouts of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts
  • Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval
  • Completes projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, clients, etc. as needed
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing responsibilities as needed
  • Contributes to team with brainstorming and creative exercises
